My T4 set up is making alot of noise when they are cold and hot it seems. I installed the kit right before the RTTS event April 2, 2011. The friday I arrived at the event I did a couple laps around the parking lot to try to get the brakes heated up and set it. Then that night we went for about a 30 mile cruise. I know it was no where near the correct way to bed in the brakes. I raced it all day on Saturday and it made no noise. The brakes did a great job. Now when I drive it on the weekends it tends to really make nosie when I apply pressure on the brakes but it goes away when I apply full pressure. The noise is a loud high pitched squeal. Anyone have a recommendation on fixing this?
I emalied Rick @ Baer but have not recieved a reply yet.

This is what I do on all of my rides:
I put a dab of high temp brake grease on the 2 contact points where the pads ride in the carrier bracket, and also put brake pad adhesive on the rear of the innermost pad, where the pads meet the pistons.
The grease is pretty much unnecessary on a new setup, but the goop on the inner pad is critical to stop the chattering - IMO
Some newer OEM style brake pads have a bonded aluminum sheet on the inner brake pad to stop the chatter, but the goop always works.

I just put these things on directlly out of the box. They were already installed on the spindle and everything.
I plan to take off the pads and sand them doen a bit to get the glaze off. I will also resurface the rotors to get the glaze off. Then put them back on with some grease and let it eat.

I am a big fan of using the various brake stop sprays. You spray a coat on the back of the pads and let it set up, like contact cement. It works great. The noise you are experiencing is as a result of the pad rubbing against the piston. That's why the noise goes away when you firmly step on the brakes.

also check out my build thread for more pics on the pads and rotors and what I did to help stop the squealing.

I know this thread is probably dead but... I tried the BG and a light coating of brake grease on the backing plates. It was great for 5 min then back to squealing. Rick at Baer sent me some less agressive pads and so far life is good. I made it thru the bedding process with no squeal. Man I am a happy man tonight. Thanks to the OP for starting this thread.
