here are some pics of the 10s I am putting on my 1979 trans am this a ws6 car so has rear disc brakes
NO tubs all stock and its tight
I have a mock up 245 40 in the pic I think I could squeeze a 255 in there but I am not sure.

46253 I would lower the car to fill the wheel well BUT my super 44 mufflers are already about 3 inchs off the ground any lower and they would scrap the ground. so i am not sure how people get away with it unless theres scrap or they run glass packs.
46254 I didnt roll no fender lip this is stock
and I hear on here how guy can stuff a 275 under here but i dont see how cause its almost touching on the inside wheel well NO I didnt have to beat my seat belt bump in

Hope this helps anyone who is trying to stuff a 10 under a 1979 Trans am
NOTE all cars are not the same 1977 and 1978 could be different
Ill post more as this build goes on maybe a 255 fits and doesnt Rub the inside will see and ill let you know
like i said its STOCK and its TIGHT

Id run the muffler in the OE location, provides more clearance. I guess the camaro and firebird wheel wells are different, my car wears 275's on a 9 inch wheel and has 1.5 inches of clearance.

The problem is the backspacing. What is the backspacking on that wheel?

Running 275's on a 9.5" on my 73 Camaro. No issues there. PLENTY of clearance. Definitely has to be the backspacing.

10 7/8 out side to out side

I think a 255 will sit flush with the rim

All the 10" wheels I have ever boughten all measure 11 inches wide. Are you sure you dont have 9.5s?

yes they are 9.5s i just call them 10s
any tips on a tire that will mount flush with the rim
and doesnt balloon over the edge
I dont want the rim edge to show like they do with the 245

I would do a 265/275, I had run 255s on 8.5s and it was perfect
