I have an all original really clean, nearly rust free Numbers matching 68 camaro 327/4speed convertible. I'm going to replace the trunk pan and rear quarters. Is it possible to use 69 quarters? Being a numbers matching car would that plus a mini tub devalue it at all? This is my first muscle car that hasn't been hacked up.

I think it will make it harder to sell.

I wouldn't think it would be desirable to most, certainly not to me personally

I wouldn't do it. It's either a 68 or a 69. Frankenstein's (no offense intended to you or your build) don't typically retain much value or market appeal.

Do not do it!!!
it will not (repeat Never) sell!
69 quarters are wider and then then you have to replace the tail panel inner trunk structure gas tank, just as a start
if you want a 69 then buy one and sell the 68 to another member who would want a 68

68 quarters it is. What about the mini tub is that bad? What about dropping in an ls3/T56? Is that viewed as a negitive? Current engine is numbers matching 327/4speed 30 over with a little cam but still has factory carb and intake. obviously I would hang on to the original powertrain.
Mini tub is fine many owners would not mind such a thing and its not a noticable (or damaging) change

If you plan on keeping the car, build the car that you want. If you don't, don't change anything that can't be undone without much effort.Sit down, research & plan your build the best that you can. You will waste less money that way. Definately leave the 68 quarters.
