      Master cylinder- C5 caliper problem.

      Hi!
I have a problem with a master cylinder and caliper match.
The car,a Chevelle -66 LS1/T56, had a CPP disc brake kit mounted.

Now the front calipers are Corvette C5.
      Calipers in rear,same as before.(CPP)

      Brake booster is still CPP.

Master brake cylinder replaced with -00 Camaro.

To get the brakes to lock up in the front, I have to press very!!! hard.

I also mounted a proportioning valve in the rear circuit.
It seems to work as it should, to find the right balance front/rear.

Any suggestions how to make the C5 calipers work on this Chevelle?

      Change master cylinder?....brake booster?....or both?....or?

      Mike.

Which CPP rear brake kit are you running? As far as I know, they offer their "stock" type kits using the GM Cadillac style parking brake calipers and then they have their "big-brake" variants using the later Ford/Lincoln caliper if I'm not mistaken (my guess based on caliper appearance only). What size and configuration (diaphragm diameter and quantity) brake booster are you running? How much vacuum does your engine generate at idle? What pads are you running?

If life were simple, you would only have one issue. Since life generally is not simple, odds are that you have several things contributing to the low brake torque/high pedal effort issus that you're experiencing.
