Guys, If this is not in the right sub-forum, I apologize.

I am running headers on my 69 GTO, and I have succeeded in cooking my brake proportioning valve that sits on the frame about 1.5 inches from the header. I know, I should have moved it previously, but I didn't. What is the best way to re-locate it. I have already replaced all of the hard lines back when I did a frame off 3 years ago. I really don't want to have to run all new lines. What have you guys done, and where have you GM a-body owners re-located your prop valves to. Do you have pictures?

Thanks in advance

RW

can you just fab up a simple heat shield out of some sheetmetal to keep the radiant heat away from it?

If you are talking about an adjustable prop valve, I made a simple bracket and mounted it to the frame under the driver's seat. For tuning it is easy to get to and out of the way.

We moved the whole assembly up under the MC on my wifes' car since it has a 455 with headers. We installed all new "conversion" lines from Inline Tube that are made to work with the new prop valve location. I believe you can get just the lines to run from the old location to the new one (since you just replaced them).
Hope this helps.
