Ok, bear with me here, please; I'm not sure if I'm going to phrase this right.
On the stock AC box, the drain is offset slightly downwind of the coil, but underneath.

I'm fitting a different coil in my stock box. The new coil is smaller.
Am I able to get away with adding a "divider" inside the box, to force the air to go through the coil, and having the divider be "upstream" of the drain, or do I need to raise the bottom of the box up to meet the bottom of the coil so it can drain from both sides? I've drawn the divider in red below, but I'm not much of an artist. Hopefully you get the gist of what I'm getting at.

Are there any other design considerations that come to mind that I might need to know?
