Here's the deal. This winter I'm pulling my engine to install my 2 drains. A little info first. I built a custom twin turbo system with 2 Garrett t-60s, 2 44mm wastegates and all the right stuff. It's a STOCK GM 350 290hp crate engine 4 bolt mains with around 8:1 comp. The wastegates are set at 4-5lbs with the smallest springs. I'm pulling it to install a 6 QT oil pan and a Victor Jr manifold.

My future plan is to build a new all forged engine, BUT what could I do while it's out that won't cost a lot of money. Or should I just leave it as is?

Thanks

Here's a pic of the system so far...

Since you have another one waiting, probably nothing. I would add an oil cooler, phenolic spacer/insulator for the carb, and a heat shield for the master cylinder to make it all more reliable.

Thanks. I'm wrapping all the downtubes so that should help the heat by the master. I can't add any spacers due to hood clearance. And I thought the 6QT pan would help with the oil temp. I'll look into the cooler though.

Looks good. You could upgrade your heads now with the ones you plan to use on your forged motor, but maybe that's more than you planned to spend this time.

How's she run?

One thing to consider is valve springs, stock springs will float (especially if they have some miles on them) and the motor will have a hard time holding boost.

You might be ok with your boost level since it's pretty low, but something to think about. Anything higher will definitely require HD springs.
