71 Monte Carlo interior

I need some help if anyone knows anything about Fisrt Gen Monte Carlo interiors. I have a chattering noise that gets louder the harder you get into the throttle but doesn't do it a cruising speed. Believe it to be the speedo cable but not sure...any advice/pointers??thank you

The speedo cable probably needs to be lubed. If you can get to it from the back of the speedo disconnect and shoot some light grease down the cable. That is why I lubed mine the last time the dash was out of my Monte Carlo (70-72 Chevelles are the same). Could be a bad speedo head too. The plastic dashes are pretty noisy in the later Chevelle and Monte Carlo (I know mine is).
