I just ordered a set of Budnik gasser's in 17x8 and 17x10 for my Challenger. Does anyone have a tire recommendation for the 10's. It doesn't seem like there's all that much. Just about every tire comes in a 245/45/17 that I am gonna run in the front. But it seems like the only decent options for the rears are 285/40/17 and the choices are like a nitto 555, Bridgeston s-01, and Goodyear GS-D3. I'd really like a 295 or 305. And ideally a 35 or 40 series sidewall. Any ideas would be great. I need a good tire to support the suspension and hp but in the end of the day it's still a street car.

285/40-17 is probably going to be you best bet. Its got a little taller sidewall then say a 275/40-17 (which is super common, you'd have a lot of tire choices btw). The differance between a 285 and a 295 is 1/2" or less.
If you have the room on your car, a 315/35-17 would probably fit that wheel, but your tire choices are more limited. Nitto makes tires for that, though from what I hear they are/were hard to get.

m/t makes a 295/45/17 drag radial..im running a bfg kdws 285/40 on my 17x10..it fits the rim really well...im looking at moving up to the 295, so that i can have a little more sidewall....
here is a pic of the m/t street radial 2

I am not really interested in a dr since the car isn't really a straight line car and is built to handle. Thanks for the idea though.

AFAIK, there isn't anything designed into a DR that makes it drag-only, or straight-line only. it's just a dry weather tire with a LOT of surface area for contact patch.

I run Nitto 555 285/40-17's on a 9.5 rim. I'd go with that size.. 10" rim shouldn't be a problem on them.

A drag radial is designed for straight line traction therefore the sidewall is more forgiving than other tires geared towards performance. It will have more flex. Nitto has two drag radials, one for drag and one for cornering action.
