I have a 70 Chevelle and right now the body is not on the chassis and I need to find out the proper backspacing for the rear? I plan on running a 275-60-15 on a 8 inch torque thrust II, or a 275- -18 on a 8 inch torque thrust II. And also does the backspacing have to be the same on the front. I want the deepest look possible on the back. The rear end is stock width.

Well the rears will be different from 15's to 18's abit due to side wall flex...I know im gonna get reamed later but a 5.5" back space should be cool on both. The fronts can be different, say 4.5" or 5"

To keep the deep look and have enough room for a 275 tire, you will need a zero offset or 4.5" backspacing on a 8" rim. You really don't need 5.5" backspacing unless you run a 9.5" or 10" rim.

I run an 18x10.5 with 6 inches of backspacing on my GTO with a 295/45/18.
