Staggered....or 20x10.5 on all four corners?

I'm still in the infancy of the planning stage, but here's A little background : The car is a 4th gen 81 Monte Carlo Turbo that belonged to my late grandfather. Keeping with the Turbo 6. I'm planning on dropping in a Ford/Yamaha 3.2L V6 from the Taurus SHO (The intake is a work of art) and adding a couple snails to it.

I'm not worried about trying to find wheels to fit the current dimensions, since a CF Wide-Body will be fabbed. The one piece style with a concave face is what I'm going for.

The wheels are pretty pricey off the shelf, let alone the wait and cost of a custom mills from the factory. But I found a set with a style I like at a crazy low price. They only down side is they are 20"s. 20x9.5 w/ a 45 mm offset front & 20x10.5 w/ a 30 mm offset rear. The seller said he would give me 4 20x10.5 if I wanted, which I'm strongly considering. Has anyone ran 10.5 on all four corners?

You are worried about the cost of wheels when you are considering a CF widebody kit, a Ford engine with turbos, and god knows what transmission in a GM car? Right...

      Hmmmmmm.

Well, I think the project would be do-able if you forget the SHO engine. You might want to consider becoming awesome at fiberglass before attempting composites.

Rota Wheels makes the Grid model; basically a copy of the Volk's you pictured, in low offset BMW fitments in a "close enough" bolt pattern. You are limited to 18's or 19's in a 10.5" wheel. You can get better tires in those sizes anyway. They come in many colors and with major concaveness.

I would like to see a Monte dumped on TE-37's or Grids.

The Ford SHO engine was originally intended for a mid-engine RWD platform. The car was canned, and due to contractual obligations w/ Yamaha, the engine was dumped in the Taurus. Yes...the Taurus is a front wheel drive car, but the engines intake manifold is bilaterally symmetrical (since it was intended for the said configuration), so flipping it around makes it possible to mate to a T5 transmission in a RWD longitudinal configuration. I am well aware It's not gonna be a bolt in affair, But It's not just "Wishful thinking" . The engine has a lot going for it as far as V6's go. Red-line is around 8000 rpm, and single Turbo systems have been added flawlessly to it in the FWD configuration.

A CF wide-body kit is only expensive if you contract it out. Having a Whole-seller like U.S. Composites Inc. relatively local makes the kits price much more affordable than one would assume. And if I'm not mistaken, there is a pretty popular build on this site with a LS series GM engine in a Ford mustang. The cost of wheels is important when the price in front of me is $900.00 shipped. I'm not knocking anyone for doing it, but I can't drop the kind of money some of you spend on wheels. The cash saved could buy the engine and a built trans for the project.

SHIRO666, the Volk TE-37 is timeless, one of the most recognizable one-piece wheels on the market. I would love to have a set, and could no doubt get them in the bolt pattern needed, but Mackin Industries doesn't let their wheels go without a kings ransom : Volk, Rays engineering, Yokohama Designs, the older G-games, are all pricey stuff. I'll definitely check out Rota wheels though. I don't want to post the exact wheels I have my eye on, but your right on the money with the BMW part and major concaveness.

I appreciate all the feedback you guys can give.

4 phat tires are better than 2! Go for it dude, I am sure it won't hurt anything; it will probably handle better with the same on all 4 corners? IMO

Plus it will have the open wheel racer look with 4 FaT TireS!
