C5 Brake Swap on 68 Camaro

Hi everyone, I recently did a C5 Corvette front and rear brake swap on my 68 Camaro, if anyone is interested in this swap let me know as I'd be happy to help. Entire swap was about 1200 for front AND rear!

      Cheers

      Pete

What did you have to get to make the C5 parts fit?

His Cardomain page states that he obtained a full C5 brake setup off of Ebay and went through the good folks at Kore3 (http://www.kore3.com) to obtain the necessary brackets and flexible brake lines.

I do hope that Pete will share his story though, it looks as though more than a few people would benefit from his experience.

Kore3 has the right stuff to make this work, but make sure you download his fit template as the calipers are bigger than the c4 stuff and don't clear all rims. (i.e. Torque Thrust 2's)

I've run c5 fronts, c4 rears for years. The c4 rears have a built in ebrake in the caliper making things easier.

If it helps, my build has quite a few photos and details of my C5 swap using Kore3 stuff.

A lot of the guys here have been helping me quite a bit with the same issue. In fact, if you search disc brakes for c5 you'll probably come up with more info than you can use.
Here is a parts list and installation instructions as well as where you can get parts.

I forgot to add that you could just make it easy on yourself and go with Kore 3 or Touring Classics who both sponsor this site.

The best option I found was C5 fronts and LS1 (F-Body) rears. I still used the Vette caliper in the rear, but the rotors, caliper abutments, and caliper brackets are all Camaro items. With the Camaro stuff it's very nearly a bolt-on, and gives you the internal parking brake setup that everyone likes. Since the Vette has IRS, the hub offset is all wrong for the brackets to work.

This is the link to my car, the rear brake pics start part of the way down the page. There's not much for text with them but the pictures are fairly self-explanatory. This is on a newer Monte Carlo, but the process should be fairly similar for your car.
