hey guys i'am new here ive been searching alot and found out what brakes iam going to run on my 89 s10.
iam looking into c4 front and rear. with a hydroboost from a 90-92 astro mini van.
1st reason external parking brake. (iam running mark viii irs with custom spindle with s10 4x4 front hubs. no room for internal parking brake cause of 4x4 hub.
what is the difference from 94-97 z28 lt1 brakes and c4.
also what is PBR brakes are thay an aftermarket. ive heard of them just never asked.
happy new year

Not sure about the fronts, but the only difference between 94-97 F body brakes & Vette rear brakes is the direction of the pull for the E brake. One pulls towards the center (Vette I think) & other is towards the front.

Scot is correct that the direction of pull is the only difference between the C4 and LT1 rear calipers, however I thought it was opposite and that the LT1's pulled towards the center...either way, it's just the brackets bolted to the caliper that differ. The cast aluminum caliper bodies are the same.
PBR Australia is an OE manufacturer that supplies brakes for the majority of GM applications with only a few Brembo exceptions that I know of. They also supply several other OE's as well. Check them out if you like, http://www.pbr.com.au/
All of the C4, C5, and C6/Z51/Z06 applications use PBR calipers. The C4 calipers were PBR's first generation aluminum calipers and they've steadily evolved since then. The C6 Z06 uses their new(er) monoblock M-Series calipers but they also sell them through their peformance division for the popular Holden and Ford apps down under. Only the new C6 ZR1 Corvette uses Brembo carbon/ceramic brakes.

I have Baer rear brackets on a G body 10 bolt rear & it uses F body calipers with Vette 12" rotors.

i think iam going to go with the 12"vette rotor and the fbody caliper. i have to fab up my spindles for the irs anyway. for the front later this year i going to look into the ls1 or c5 13" rotor.
i going with the biggest rotor i can cause i setting up the s10 for 22"-20" rear and 20"-18" front. so the hydroboost will help.

You should find a set of 98-02 S10 BLAZER front knuckles. That is what I am using, yes they are the same as G bodies. They are a slip on rotor design & are easier to fabricate a bracket to mount C5 13" rotors & 2 piston calipers.
I am interested in seeing your IRS setup. I have a Dana 44 in the garage that I would like to install in the Monte someday.
