      Interior rear view mirror wiring?

I have re-worked a Donnelly auto dimming rear view mirror that I want to use in my 1st gen Camaro, having a hard time with the wiring configuration to hook things up. Tried Donnelly/ Magna which got me no where so I thought someone here might be able to help me figure the color coded wiring out.

I don't have a color chart but I've messed around with a few Donnelly lighted mirrors; I've found the wires on the LH side of the socket (in the back of the mirror) are usually the power and ground for the map light/dome light functions, the wires on the RH side of the socket are for the accessory features, i.e. temp/compass. You could open one of the map light sockets and test for continuity from the bulb socket to help narrow down the map light pins. Mirrors with only a temp sender use 2 wires from the sensor and are usually pinned at the far RH side of the socket.

I have Donnelly #120187351 mirror in my 442 convertible. It doesn't have any additional features, just map/dome light function. My mirror pinned out as follows:

      Orange: +12v power
White: Dome light ground, activates when the door is opened
Black: Ground for individual map light function

cdrod, thanks for the response, this mirror has the map lights that I want to function, the auto dimming feature is the one I really want. Do you know if any of the wires affect this function?
We all have phones that help with other features that I don't care about on the mirror. I'll try some of your suggestions.

Thanks for the schematic, I'll get some leads to the battery with a flashlight to see if I can get the auto dimming to function.

Thanks, I'll try him if all the other options don't work out.
