Andrew B, you still around??? or others on sound deading

Andrew, I talked to you before about Cascade in the GTO, would you do it again or would you use something else, Dynamat etc,

there are a tons of products out there, and a lot of people complain about liquid, but there cars are not torn aparts like ours, or mine,

I was just wondering if you had kept up with the trends

Anybody else can throw in there 2 cents on this also,

What's everybody like mats or liquids??

      Why not rhino

I am in the process of tear down of the interior of my 67 camaro for paint and I am a going to put rhino linings in my car for sound deadening. And as for the liquid.... well rhino is bonded to what ever its sprayed on so it will form a PERMANENT air/watertight seal. I'm also going to coat the bottom of the car also

My Camaro is tore down also, but I did not go with liquid because I wanted to be able to remove it later if it did not work out. Instead I went with eDead v1 and v1se stick on. However, I do plan on using bed liner for the wheelwells and under the rockers.

The only problem with Rhino liner as opposed to some of the other liquid sound deadening stuff, is that it's very heavy. Some of the liquids out now, are really light.

Rhino liner has no sound deading properties, it's just for protection to my knowledge, unless they changed it,

But I'm thinking of doing the underside for protection, I already have some good semigloss enamel under there, just thinking of more protection,

I'm think with the right prep, there would be no reason to remove it, hopefully, but I would need to have everything done before spraying it, I stilll need the weld in subframe connectors done and reseam sealed the interior etc,

What's edead V1, who makes it,

I like the Cascade products, thats what was used in the GTO, and the car mag guys raved about the ride and interior sound quality, and the price is good,

      Thanks for the input guys,

      eDead

Edead is made by Elemental Design, http://www.edesignaudio.com/us.php, and is similar to Dynamat. They also make a liquid version (v3) and you can get a 20% online discount coupon to use for ordering.

I have about 250 sq ft for my Camaro (I know, it is a bit much) of both the thin and thick peel-n-stick products. I have heard good things from other users, but have no experience yet as the car is still apart. However, it is fairly inexpensive.

To be completely honest, I have not kept up with the trends in this market. What I can tell you is that the products from Cascade are first rate and they work extremely well. It may be possible that there are other alternatives out there, but I don't have first hand experience with anything else. Just for the record Cascade has never given me any discount or free product.

If anyone has any specific questions, please let me know.

Andrew B......?? Speak of the devil! How are you man? I was just talking about your GTO yesterday. We have a customer wanting the same kit you purchased from us but we could not remember which "brand" spindles you used?? Could you kindly reply with which spindles you used to fit our brake kit? We can't seem to find a photo that will tell us otherwise!! We know the brake parts but do not know where to send this dude for spindles. He will need the same ones you used in order for our to work. Thanks.

Also are your spindles drop spindles? If so how much 1" 2 " etc?
And what year is your car?

you may also wamt to look into www.secondskinaudio.com

We used all of their products on the Chevelle and it's freakin earily quiet in the cab when you shut the doors. Its a combination of their mats, a sprayable/brushable texture coating over the mat in addition to materials over certian parts of the vehicle like the firewalls and headliner. all of it is military grade and produced for sound deadening/control as well as insulation.

I have dynamat for my 69 Camaro and just want to know exactly where would be the best places to put it. Will it do good if I put it in my trunk? I have two 12-inch subwoofers in there.

I'd say everywhere in the interior, and I guess the trunk,
