I'm trying to find new rear seat frames for my 68 Chevelle 2-door coupe. This is impossible. Lots of 70-72 options so the big question is, are the rear seat frames the same for model years 68-72 and what's the differences? The floor pans, wheel houses and rear fire wall are all the same so it would seem that seat frames should also be the same. Heeeeeelp:dunno:
thanks in advance,
Perry

I just went through this 68-72 GM A-body rear seat frames are the same. Problem is there are 2 different widths. My Tempest has just cardboard style door panels with bottom seat frame length around 54”.
Other A-body seat frames I looked at were close to 4” narrower. The cars that had narrower frames had plastic style panels on either side.
Seems the lower base cars had the longer length seat frames.Hope this helps.

Just realized gave wrong measurement. My bottom seat frame measured 58.

Unfortunately I don't have the original frames but I do have frames from a 69 Buick GS. The lower frame measures 56.5" and the backrest measures 55.75". Only thing that seems strange is how high above the floor pan the frame sits. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance,
Perry
