First question I have A GT 500 engine in a 1967 Mustang and the stock GT 500 AC compressor is it a fixed displacement or a variable displacement compressor
Second question will the stock compressor work with a Gen4 vintage air unit
Third question what kind of oil and how much would I run with this compressor and the Vintage air gen4 box?
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum...Have you contacted Vintage Air? I bet they know these answers, exactly...

Glad to be on here. I did and could not get an answer to the compressor question that is why I am posting here. A lot of great knowledge on here!

I looked up the AC compressor for this application on rockauto. It indicates a Four Seasons FS18 P/N 68199. This appears to be a fixed displacement compressor and uses PAG46. I would contact Four Seasons (4s.com) and ask them what the displacement is. Knowing the displacement and pulley diameters, you can compare it to whatever compressor is normally used with the Vintage Air system.

Thank you for your reply. I like your approach to this matter I’m heading over to rock auto right now. I’ve read about GT500 using an FS 18 style compressor. All of this wouldn’t be that big a deal if I could have used the compressor adapter for a coyote motor and put a Sanden compressor on it But this being a supercharged motor and the compressor clutch has 10 ribs instead of the six. Which it seems no one addresses in the aftermarket.

I suggest contacting Four Seasons since they manufacture the compressor and should be able to give you the specs.
In this article, Vintage Air recommends a compressor of 8 or 8.5 cubic inch per revolution.
