I'm wondering which style carpet most of you prefer loop or cut pile?

I ordered the original loop pile carpets. I tend to think after there is some wear on the cut pile, they start to look shaggy. Just my opinion though.

Hey Steve, transmission is still doing very well, I'm thinking the hard work was well worth the effort. I've just about got my new seats installed too.

Purists will, of course, say loop. I put the cut in mine. It seemed to fit the pro-touring theme.

Cut pile is mach harder to clean, if that matters to you.

I like the the look of the loop style, but it frays much easier than the cut pile. We drive our cars a lot, getting in and out frequently. I just switched to cut pile when I raised my trans tunnel. I went with a one piece carpet and have been happy with it so far. Still doesnt look as good as the loop style though.

Personally I prefer cut pile. Its more like our modern cars. You should also know that most vendors offer different levels of cut pile if you're worried about wear.

I like the modern look of cutpile.. I switched out to cutpile in my 2nd gen. Thought I got a 1 piece but was a 2 piece. Never liked the loop style

Another option might be Daytona weave. I saw one of the DSE finished camaros (orange 69 local to me) and I thought it looked really nice.

I just ordered cut pile. Hasn't arrived yet. I live on a dirt road, so lots of loose dirt gets in from stepping in and out. vacuuming that out of loop was a challenge, I'm sure it will still suck with cut pile, but I much prefer the look of cut pile

I couldn't make up my mind either and decided to go a different route and install a German wool square weave and am very happy with it.
