So over the last weekend I swapped out the steering box in my 64 El Camino from a 16:1 to 12.7:1 and am really Loving the quicker steering . The only downside is that now my steering wheel feels a bit large . I am currently running a factory looking 15 inch steering wheel and it looks like a 350 MM steering wheel is in order . I have looked at a few Momo wheels and it looks like Sparco steering wheels are fairly popular as well . Are these pretty much it if your looking for a quality steering wheel for AutoX or should I be looking at other brands as well ?

All comes down to personal taste ... me, I love my Nardi, some of the nicest steering wheels available

I'm using a Grant Challenger series steering wheel and have been happy with it.

Have you considered the sight line to your gauges? Moving to a smaller wheel for me will also include adding a tilt column if I want to be able to see the instrument cluster.

I have seen a 65 Chevelle with a 13.5 inch wheel and you can see all the gauges just fine . The important one (the tachometer) sits in the middle of the gauge cluster . To be honest when I autoX'd in the 80's I don't ever remember looking at the gauges .
