Been working on some fiberglass speaker kick panels. Got my wood frame done and getting ready to wet sand them.

My question is, I plan on selling these and pulled the pattern off a set of 68 kick panels and was wondering if these will work on 69 too? It seems like I have ready somewhere that they used the same or can use the same kicks.

How much?

Most likely $175 a set, they will come with a grille blank and come in gel coat. I won't do any covering on them. But I haven't made the mold yet, it will be a few more days on that.

Are the kick panels the same from 67 - 68 - 69? Thanks again

67 and 68 are the same......Camaro central and everyone else list the same kick for both years. The 69 panel is a little different in the dash/A-pillar area. Looking at your prototype someone could certainly take the top piece off their 69 kick if they were particular. Most of these panels would use a piece of standard windlace anyway so if THAT was done it would fit all years.
PS---The Screamin performance custom kicks are also listed 67-69 See their thread here

---Does this all get me a discount on the first production set????

got them done, this is Carl's set (I'll get with you about meeting up tomorrow)
The other set is done too and ready to sell. This is how it will come. Will have the mdf grill blanks, panels, and pinch weld moldings. The kicks will butt against that. Not shown is the grill snaps I had to order. If anyone wants a set before they come in I'll discount the panels for $165 shipped and you can buy your own off eBay.
These will need some final prep before covering or painting them like you would any body panel, but hey I'm basically pulling them out of the mold, trimming and sending them out. Otherwise I would be asking double that like the other guys selling similar pods.
These use the cavity behind the kick where the vent actuator resided so you will lose that. To protect the speaker from water draining off the cowl get a set of metra 91-6900 6 x 9 speaker baffles from eBay, they fit inside the opening perfectly and you can get those for $9-12 shipped.

Here is some pictures of one side of my kick panels installed. I covered them with vinyl and in the speaker insert, I used a speaker material. I really wanted to not use the speaker grill, but, the speakers I used have a tweeter cone built in and stuck too far out from the front of the panel, so I had to use the grill. Still, I think it looks very good. The speakers are Digital Design CXS-6.5. The pictures of the aluminum piece that I glued in show the Scotch Extreme Velcro I used to hold the panel to the car. I didn't want to use any screws so this seems to be working pretty good.

Do you happen to have a old package tray I can pull a pattern off of? If not, if you can put the trim in temporally I can trace it out on some cardboard and make a template

Yeah, I looked on Nastyz28 and saw your build. I don't have the original (or any other) package tray. I can make you a template though. I will make one, and then get in the trunk and trace where the openings are for the speakers. I'll let you know when I'm done.

Dennis,
I got the rear package tray template finished this afternoon, are you going to make it with the same raised panels as the kick panels? Just curious.

Hey Carl,
Do the hoses on your vintage air kit run through the firewall or through the kick panel area? Had a question about it and those kicks fitting a car with VA and I wanted to be sure
minendrews68
05-19-2015, 03:56 PM
Mine run through the firewall. I thought about running through the area where the kick panels were, but decided it would be a hassle.
1976CamaroGuy
05-19-2015, 04:04 PM
ok thanks, I don't think it's an issue either way. When it runs through the kick you just relocate the hoses above the kick...it's what I did on my 71
