Can you get good brakes without a booster

I have 67 Camaro with 14 1/4" 6 piston wilwood fronts and 14" 4 piston rears and 7/8" wilwood master cylinder, can I get good brakes without using a booster and using the master cylinder only

Most people prefer manual brakes with a properly sized master cylinder for the track and autocross. There is supposed to be more pedal feedback and the ability to modulate the brakes more effectively. If you are going to daily drive the car in traffic, you may want a booster.

      Bore size and pedal ratio.

Get those right and the brakes will be good. my Mustang has manual that you might not know it unless looking for it.

You should have excellent brakes with that set-up.

You will have great brakes with that set up.

That's exactly what I ran on my 69 Camaro Protour car.

Unless you look under the hood you would not know it wasn't boosted.

I agree, you will have great brakes the way it is. No need to boost them.

Be sure to use decent pads, they will make or break your braking setup. I have '98-'02 f-body (LS1) brakes on a g-body with a 7/8" manual M/C. The generic pads that came on the car were worthless, could barely stop the car.

Switched to StopTech High Performance street pads for a night & day difference.

If the Wilwoods came with the BP10 pads and don't seem to do all that well at stopping your '67. Switch to the BP20 pads.

      Bob.
