Over my head here. I have a 1969 Mach 1 that had a narrowed rear end swapped out for full width rear end before I purchased. It is tubed and still has springs narrower than stock I purchased an adjustable rear sway bar and it is roughly 2" too wide to install. Everything seems like it would be fine if bar was 2" narrower. Now do I cut bar and reweld. Reweld with short sleeve welded over cut or heat and bend to fit. Any suggestions would help

Don't cut and weld. They're designed to bend, mostly in the middle since that's the weakest point. So if you weld on it you'll move the stress point and it won't be as effective.
I'd probably just heat and bend to fit appropriately.
