Did a search and really didn't find any thing with front/rear using IRS in the rear. Anyone know who builds chassis using this?

A-body IRS. Art is doing them.

We did it once, wouldn't be opposed to doing it again.
The torque tube needs lengthening as well as the driveshaft, and CVs need to be custom length aka shortened. PM for details

That uses camaro spindle. I'm interested more in c7 suspension.

Camaro spindle? You mean C6 Corvette?

It'd be difficult to jig up a C7 since there aren't many wrecked ones out there yet

Sry. You jumped in between post. The link to Morison is a camaro spindle. The pic I posted is c7. Not to hard to jig it up but I'm not into wrecked suspension.

Lol you know what I mean, junkyard stuff. Yeah it's not "hard" just time consuming and gotta get your hands on one.

Have at it. The older cars aren't exactly set-up for late model suspensions. The track width is all wrong and packaging is a real issue. The C6 suspension is more like the C5 suspension, while the C7 parts are quite unique.

So if you want to use them, get out the tape measure and a welder...and make sure you post up progress pictures.

Been building them for 8 yrs using Corvette suspension until this past April when I left my job. Been sitting around bored and been thinking of something to build.

We hadn't had C6 front suspension jigged up for this guy, so the cost was lower by utilizing our front suspension. We've since jigged C6 front suspension so it wouldn't be out of the question to use that up front instead of ours.

Never built one longer. Thumbs up. I've built 12-15 shorter for corvettes before, and never liked them. The only one I thought was cool was this. Used front and rear cradles and tunnel from c6. Every thing dropped out from the bottom. Took me a while to find this pic as it's several yrs old.

Dale that is beautiful! I have seen pics of what people have to do to change the clutch on a manual trans Vette, looks like they have to drop the entire drivetrain. Same with this setup?

Hemidaytona: I have been wanting to do this on an 80's G body too. Similar full frame as the A body. I have been "playing" designing a frame, here is the front I have come up with:

Post cars had vent windows in 69. Figured that car would get your attention. Ive been playing part time at a friends shop since I don't have anything to do. He is a goat nut. Has about 50-55 parts car. I'm finishing up a 69 RA4 car for him. 1 of 69 built with options list. Got a 65 vert and hardtop he wants done, but modding is more my style.

That one was an automatic so not a lot of service up front. But yes the transaxle would have to be moved if not completely removed.

I'm COPO on most forums, at least the Corvette forums. Would have been here but was already taking. Yes that is me. After I left the street shop, went to David Lemmond's for a while. He built Shane Stacks SS and threw out the idea for a g body and that thread is what I found searching. Think David and I could have did some cool stuff but I'm too old to drive 55 miles one way for work.

Cool work you have done there. Great start. I'd like to post up some pics of the front I designed for the c7 suspension, if its OK with the mods here.

From what I understand the hard points haven't changed that much from the c6 to the c7. I haven't seen the CAD, but the guys I work with, dealt with the c5, c6, and c7 in factory and race trim. I was told the new hard points are rather similar although from the pictures posted the arms appear to be a hollow aluminum cast.

C5/6 front is the same. C7 is different in a few places. The rack location has moved toward, which could help on rack to blancer problem found on most cars. The luck of working on early vettes is the engine is set back and cutting the knuckle isn't required.

C5/6 and the zo6 all are just a lil different. C5 upper a arm lacks room for coilovers and lower shock mount on the lower is hard to work with. C6 is great and the upper location is different. Allows the shock to be stood up more. C6z upper a arm mounts different. C7 is totally different, all of it. 19 inch wheels will be required. Toe bar is on a cam bolt.

I'll say companies will use just the c7 lowers arms which are super light and use c6 spindles because they are l/r and work f/r with c6 uppers.

I need to find the CADD data for the C7 stuff, or at least look at one, are the A arms different, or just the spindle? With the C5/6 stuff I have (not 100% sure what CADD data I have), the rack (yellow) will interfere with the motor.

I don't know the engine location per firewall and rack. If that is fairly close the c7 spindle would not help. The lower points will be close.

I looked at your design of the front clip. Here are some pics of the latest and greatest I did. It's 3/16 plate.
