So I really want to try to keep the classic look of a carb and air cleaner for my 68 camaro project. My question is should i do a ls engine with an intake and carb or just stick with a traditional SBC. my LS option i am looking at is the katech LS hot rod motor. Or my other SBC option i am looking at is the daily driver 427 series from nelson race engines. What do you guys think? does any one have one of these engines?
thanks

Personally, after already building a SBC, if I could go back I would do the LS. You want a carb now but if you want to change it later you will already have an LS to build upon. I've got a nice SBC but now I'm limited and will end up changing later to an LS.

If you want the look of the carb, you can do a carb style intake on the LS engine but still use EFI.

Those are great options if you want to use a DBW throttle body.
If you are using a cable throttle body, then you can use any number of other options. Holley makes a couple of manifolds, including the Hi-Ram and a dual quad. Edelbrock makes a single plane intake.

Nice looking setup. What ecm and harness are you using?
