Need some guidance....San Diego

I'm running into some hurdles with my project, I was wondering if there are any members of this site located in the San Diego Area (East County) willing to share their knowledge. Possibly help me with the build?

Right now I'm installing a hydroboost and think I need to fab up some custom lines/rod & clevis. There are a bunch of performance shops out my way, but it seems nobody wants to touch my project without quoting $1,000's to even start. I get the feeling they are all ready for bolt on stuff, but no actual fabrication work.



I probably have everything I need to get the car street ready and would like to set a goal for driving it this summer.

Just a quick update.

I was at a Napa next to my office the other day during lunch. When I walked in they had pre-made 8" long "adapter" brake lines. Picked up 2 of them for the prop valve to master cyl. Also got some screw on adapters to match the Nova lines to the output side of the prop valve.

Just have to solve the clevis issue on the hydroboost and should be back to rolling.

My neighbor has a buddy that is looking for work, so I'll probably ask him to be a second set of hands for the bleeding process, etc

Hey Brian, I'm also in east county (Santee), unfortunately I know just enough to be dangerous and doubt I can provide you any guidance, even so, if you ever need an extra hand or another set of eyes on an issue, or need a specific tool that you might not have, let me know.

Johnny68 is also out in East County and is a bit of a wizard at getting things to work...he also has a Nova that he recently finished (although not sure our projects are ever REALLY finished)

I've also struggled with finding shops to do small jobs, but have had good luck with San Diego Rod and Custom. Used them to fab up a couple of stainless lines when I was in a pinch.

You can also try the guys at CCC Motorsports. They are primarily a mechanical shop, but go well beyond what you would expect. They have had parts machined for me, have built custom lines, and even had my whipple intake flowed and rebuilt to improve fuel distribution. Give Greg a call over there...he's hard to reach sometimes, but he really knows his stuff. Good luck!
