Heat expansion - fixed Magnflow exhasut at tail pipe?

      Hi,

I am finishing my magnaflow 15896 install on a camaro '68.
After quite a few modification to get it fit nicely I decided to add a loose rubber suspension before the mufflers on each pipe, and I am quite surprised by the fixed mounting brace on bushing for the tail pipes, as supplied in the kit.

On these cars the exhaust pipes are fixed all along the line from headers to tail pipes with no compensators or bellows, which is ok if all pipe supports can move to take the material expansion. If the pipe is fixed, when hot the pipe expansion cannot expand freely, and internal tenison builds up that could induce cracks with time. Stainless teel expand even more that steel, and the common rule of thumb is 1 mm/°C/m.

What do you guys do for the rear tail pipe connection to body? Does the magnaflow blue body bushing allow enough torsion to the pipe to move freely?

      Thanks and regards,

      Marc
