      Ultimate Pro Touring in Mexico!

I would like to tell you a little bit about what I am doing:
I am from Sweden, living in Mexico and building American race cars.
I have raced in The ”La Carrera Panamericana” for the last 6 years. The car I am building for this year is a -53 Studebaker with everything that I have learned, racing here on Mexican roads. It is not easy building a good car for La Carrera Panamericana.

-First they have to be very fast. Both on windy mountain roads and long straights.
-They have to last 3000 miles on Mexican roads.
-They have to work on see level and all the way up to 3000 meters.
-They have to survive the crossing of major cities like Mexico City with
      23 million people.
-They have to work on regular Mexican pump gas.
-They have to be able to pass the thousands of speed bumps that you find in all the towns and villages.
-They have to be able to run cool on VERY hot days.

I guess this is what ordinary street machines go thru only 100 times worse.

The race goes on for 7 days and a day has both transit stages and speed stages (on closed roads). After the 7 days they add all the times on all the speed stages and the fastest car wins. Very simple.

My latest car has a 550 hp 363 cui Chevy small block.
5 speed G-Force transmission with straight cut gears.
      9 inch floater rear end.
Lots of NASCAR parts in the suspension.

The fastest cars have been clocked with radar guns at 200 mph on ordinary Mexican roads!

It is absolutely the most fun you can do with a car. A real adventure!
