      Dynatech vortex cones

Has anyone tried these? I saw in another site that they quiet your exhaust noise with minimum loss in HP. Do they work? They are offered by Summitt. Thanks

I have not tried that brand but I have used the 2 disc inserts that Summit sells. I used them on a 1994 502 Yukon w/spintech mufflers and it really brought the noise down to an acceptable level without seeming to take away any power, but then again it was a 502/502 crate motor.

I had placed a post a while ago without a response with a similar question. My idea was to run 2.5" or 3" chambered exhaust mufflers (just from the headers to the axle, none after the axle) on a 68 Camaro with the cone inserts for the collectors. My thought was that this combination would be different, give me good flow and allow for extra ground clearance. I don't know if I would use the cone inserts as the only mufflers, I think that would be about the same as running collector mufflers. Good flow, little restriction and extremely LOUD!
