Hey Jeff, we offer the LS and standard V8 mounts in bare, clear satin anodize, or polished. I think maybe when you ordered them we only had the bare on the shelf and ready. I don't remember for sure. Anyway, I have been trying to convince the boss to offer them in black for a long time. I think they look awesome!

What hood is that? and hows the fitment? I'm not sure if its just the angle that you took the picture, but it seems a little higher than the other 2in cowl hoods I've seen.

Its a 2" steel hood. I haven't had a chance to get final fitment on it, but it seems like it is going to fit decent.

Small progress is always good progress. I have been doing some work on the firewall. I need to have this in before I can fit the motor up, and I still am saving for the transmission.

Work has been busy this summer. I guess it is always busy but it just seems like I have less time. Trying to make progress is also tough when the month of July was 100* plus every day.

Anyways - Here is a picture. Not welded up yet.

Well, slow but sure seems to be the name of the game with me. I think I have too much stuff going on! Anyways, I have the firewall complete and I am actually happy with how it looks.

Love your project ! These are not for the faint of heart ! Takes big nerve to take all of the metal work on, but worth it all in the end , I have ventured into a 66 chevelle body just as bad , when I first saw the pics of the body , I thought it came from southern ontario in Canada , all of our **** looks like that at one time or another ! LOL ! The saving grace now is that dynacorn repops a complete skeleton for 66-67 Novas and Acadians ! Keep up the great work ! From the rust belt of Canada !

Test fitting starts now! Not gonna lie, even though it is just sitting in there, not aligned or even in the right spot, it is still really f-ing exciting!

Good news! Motor mounts are welded in!

Now, I moved to the cross member. After lots of thinking about how to make everything work, this is what we came up with.

I will make the final welds to the cross member tonight and try to weld it into the car this weekend.

      Thanks Wayne!

Here is the "final" part. Welded all up. I might put some pins in it to make it easier to locate since the screws are in a blind spot.

I think I will get it tacked in this weekend and see how she works!

Now that the transmission is in, I started to work on floor boards. It took me a while to learn this lesson, but a template is always needed when you are doing any type of fab work. I started with some construction paper from walmart. Looking back, I should have gotten something a little less flimsy, but it still worked fine.

Had a local shop shear and bend the metal for me since I dont have a brake (yet) to do it with. Then I used my template and cut in. This is the easy part, the transmission tunnel is next.

      That's it for now!

Thanks guys, your motivation keeps me going!

More progress on the floor this week. The last connection for the back of the transmission to the tunnel was a real PITA. It took me 3 trys to get it.

You can see one of my failed attempts on the drivers side floor pan. I was slightly heartbroken as that piece looked really nice (before I cut it up) oh well, not the end of the world!

Since that's done for now until I can extend the wheel wells, I needed something to support it from the underside. I got a stick of 1/4" x 2" flat bar to back up the floor pan. I know it probably isn't ideal, but with the floor pan and frame the way it is, I needed something small so I didn't lose any room under the car.

My welding is a bit rusty as of late, so the grinder was my friend

Anyways, I will get that wrapped up this week and hopefully have some more updates shortly!
