      Shrifter & Billet specialities

I just got my new Formula 14 wheel from Billet Specialities. When I went to bolt it up to my Shrifter I noticed that the screws from BS did not fit the threads on the Shrifter the bolts on the Shrifter are 10-32 and the holes in the steering wheel are set up for 8/32 should I drill out the wheel to fit the Shrifter? I hate to drill it out if there are special screws I need.

Tim, is there enough meat on the wheel to drill it out and countersink or will you run out of room? If you have room, that's what I would do.

You could put helicoils in the shrifter.

add* Every 9 bolt wheels I have here is 10-32. Does the 10-32 head fit in the counter sink on the wheel?

      Yeah,
Billet Specialties upset the apple cart. Every other 9 bolt wheel manufacturer and most Billet Specialties wheels are 10-32 and have been for decades. I appreciate the design sense for using smaller hardware with the new wheel style.

Customers are gently opening the holes up on their steering wheel a hair. It's easy and and effective. Open one up and test fit before doing them all.

We work pretty hard to make parts that jump out of the box and install themselves, but there are always exceptions.
