      61 Vette

Found a good clean 61 Corvette a while back. Almost 100% complete but 90% torn apart. Most of the parts were in milk crates. It did have a clean 57 motor with 2 fours and original 4 speed.

Parted out the front and rear suspension as well as the 57 vette motor and 4 speed. Other items such as steering column, wheel covers, steering wheel, and original shifter are down the road and hopefully going into other productive projects.

Wished I had taken early photos but did not start until chassis fabrication began. I have one and one only photo of purchace date and will keep the hunt till I find it. Would love to post the pic as it has the most hideous gold paint.

The frame is dipped and lookes to be rust free. Rear and front suspension have been fabed and motor is set in place and mounts welded.

      Jim Meyer suspension components.

More fabrication. fuel pump mounting studs and fuel line tabs. Exhaust is coming together. 2.5" to X pipe and then on to Magnaflow mufflers. System will be ceramic coated. 3:55 rear gearing. Not a fan of the Meyer rear bolt on sway bar system so I will be fabing my own weld on mounts. Lots of misc holes to be welded for a cleaner look.

Fabricated a simple but usefull transmission cross memeber as well as new weld on rear sway bar mounts. As I said earlier I am not a fan of the bolt on mounts. Fab on the chassis is complete and preperation for paint has begun. I like the Dark / Light industrial grey colors and have used them on several of my projects. Easy to clean and not so dark when working on them.
