      Texas Newbie

Howdy all, I am obviously new to the board here. My boyfriend has been on here a while now, I think his name here is Will69Camaro. I don't have a pro-touring car, but I do have a good amount of work in Will's project. And, like many here, I come seeking knowledge!

      About me:
I am 21 and am attending Texas A&M studying Mechanical Engineering. I'm a first-year senior, I did some college-hopping before settling at A&M and I now have two years to go. I love cars, always have; I get it from my dad, who had some hot rods in his youth. Right now I'm serving an internship at Peterbilt Motors Co. in Denton, TX. Last summer I worked at a local machine shop, basically as a parts cleaner and floor sweeper, but I did get to put a few engines together, and take more than a few apart. I'd like to end up somewhere in the automotive field, and someday (hopefully soon) I can have a hot rod of my own, but for now I just build little ones, I find them very affordable! Which leads me to the reason I joined. I am building a 1:24 scale model '69 Camaro Convertible (which may be followed up with a more detailed coupe) that I hoped to have some good pro-touring influence in, and where's a better place to see it than here?

Welcome to the site fellow Texan! I'm also a Mechanical Engineer. Stick with that degree program, it will pay off down the road...

Thanks for the warm welcome! Good to see a lot of fellow Aggies here. Here are some of my recent modelling builds. Since I have them currently hosted on automotiveforums.com, I can only post the links:

      Shelby GT-350H
      Viper GTS
      '96 Trans Am
      '70 GSX
      '99 Lightning and Cobra
True Street '90 GT <built for Tony Strong>

I posted up some pictures of the progress on the '69 Convertible in the paint & body forum, I'm trying to figure out a paint scheme for it before I move on to primer etc. I'm really going for the "pro-touring" look with this build.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Pro-Touring.com. You will indeed give your fair share of ooohs and aaaahs. Information that can be collected here is both limitless and priceless. There are some fellow modelers and model collectors (like myself -diecast) so enjoy, stay awhile and have fun.
