      Help please. Tie rod issue

I just got done installing my ats tall spindles, qa1 coil overs, and global west a arms on my 69 camaro.
Problem is the tie rod is hitting the inner part of my wheel.

any suggestions? Or will raising the coil over more get it out of the way

      Pics?

      What size/backspace wheels?

I know when I installed my ATS spindles I used BMW M3 wheels and I had to use something like 1.5" adapters because they hit the tie rods.

Raising the coilovers might help, but if not, you may need new wheels.

That is a well known issue with drop spindles on first gen Camaro's...

Same issues with some "TALL" spindles.

      they are legend 5 wheels 18x8 5.75 backspacing. with a 245/40/18 tire.
i called ats and they said i just need the "short" style steering arms for my car and it would solve the issue?

You could throw on some A-body steering arms, but bump steer will change some.

Jay from ats called and said that just changing to the short fast ratio arms would fix this? can anyone confirm that? and does anyone have them for sale?

i may try the a body ones if all else fails, thank you quickboat

I mocked-up my set-up - 17x9 with 7" bs with tall ATS spindles and short arms on a '69. I am using a 1.25" wheel spacer, so my bs is the same as you. The tie rod end hits the inside of the rim hard and requires a 0.425 spacer under the steering arm to just clear the rim (had to remove the wheel weight !). You might be ok with the additional .5" of rim diameter and short arms. I saw a recommendation (for Gen 1 Camaro) somewhere that the bs = rim width - 3.25", so you could space the wheel out 1.0". The formula came from Frank @ Prodigy I believe. I really need a shorter arm yet or narrow the rim. Spacing the arm will require around a 0.625" spacer and trimming the steering stop and may result in geometry issues. I will post my issue and see what the consensus is. I might call Jay first.

Yes. If I had an 18" wheel the tie rod end wouldn't hit.
