      New guy from Shoals Indiana

Hey guys, I've been creeping around here for a couple of years now and I've always admired what everyone else has accomplished. I figured I would go ahead and start sharing my opinions and ideas as well. I've built a couple of 96 Trans Am 6 speed cars with Turbos, Superchargers, and a lot of Nitrous. Also just recently sold an 84 Camaro with an 02 Silverado 5.3. I've always been an engine builder. I've worked for Jasper Engines for 5 and a half years as a custom engine builder and failure analysis technician. I've worked for International teaching technicians how to work on the newest diesel engines and also helped write and take pictures for a lot of their new books. Worked for Cummins as a quality technician. Now I'm working for General Motors as a Lab Technician in Bedford Indiana. We are casting the new truck cylinder heads to be used with Direct Injection.

I've started a new project and I'm still wondering why I've picked this car over all the others to choose from. It's an 87 Chevette that had been sitting in a guys yard for 10 years. I was able to get the engine to turn over and running. It has a factory 5 speed transmission. The rearend locked up after I drove it about 80 feet. So now I've started on swapping it over to use 5 lug spindles and rear axle from a S-10. But then I decided that I wanted to see how well this light little car could be thrown around corners. So I've decided to use 18 Corvette Replica wheels. I just wanted something different.
