Gbody wagon wheels?

I'm curious as to what the widest wheel and what offsets I could fit inside the wheel wells of my malibu wagon. I'm wanting to go with s staggered set up of 17s or 18s. 8" front and 9.5" or 10" in rear. Y'all have any ideas? The car is currently running 2" dropped spindles and 2 " drop coils in rear.

The 17x9.5 will not fit the rear without a spacer or frame trim. I can get pictures if you like. The fronts at 17x9.5 will fit on there but will hit the fender at full bump and also not clear the inner fender panel. I took srd word and am now making it all work. The whees also will not clear a c-5 brake upgrade without a 3/4 inch spacer as there is no curve to the spokes or stick out on mounting pad. The 275/40/17 will not clear on the front acceptable for most people. I cant get pictures of that right now because the front is all torn apart. Rod Cole. They are cheap though and look retro.

On My 85 Cutlass I can Fit an 18 x 9.5 Rim on My Rear with no Issues and an 18 x 8.5 in the front.

These are 18x 8.5, 5" backset, have 5/16 spacers in rear. BFG 245/55's in rear 235/50's front. Rear needs a little trimmed from fenderlip with 28 1/2" tall tires. Front already has some of inner fenders removed & trimmed. Will make custom wheelwells for airride later. Shorter tires would have been MUCH easier, but got these used for $700 recently.

I am speaking specifically of the mb old school wheel that has a 5.5 back spacing.
It hits the frame. a 5 inch backspace would clear and would fit in the wheel welll but be close inside. In another thread he ask about them specificaly. Rod

Actually the mb old schools are what I'm leaning towards. Probably go with 8s in the front and the 9.5s in the rear. But gotta wait a few months before I can get them or anything for the wagon, planning a wedding.

I run a 17x9.5" rim with 4.75" backspacing on the rear... If I run a tire with a narrow section width like a Nitto I'm fine. I also rolled my fender lips with the eastwood roller...

I've got 17x9.5s with 255-40 and 275-40 all around on my g-body wagon. I've swapped the 275s up front to see if they worked and there were no clearance issues. I'm planning on 17x10.5s and 315's all around in the hopefully near future. Check out my build thread link in my signature to see how I fit them on there. I mention the wheels on several pages.

To save you some time. SRD runs a 1 nch spacer in the back and they rub the outer wheel well. He runs no inner fender and beat the h-ll out of the front fender. And other than that they just fit right on there. If I were you and just wanted big and not biggest I would do the 17x8 with a 4.5 back. Like I said a 17x9.5 with 5.5 back must use a spacer on the back. And a 17x8 with a 4inch effective backspace with the spacers and a 235-45-17 on the front still rubs the back of the inner fender but clears in full bump.
