New Pro-touring RC Camaro from Horizon Hobby....

This is a new released model from a new brand from the large distributor Horizon Hobby. Vaterra Hobby. The jury isn't quite out on the quality of the models but they seem pretty decent from what the hobby community thinks. Definitely hobby grade RC cars, not toy grade that you'd find at toys are us.

From my experience this looks like a good buy for the components, chassis and parts. The scale is spot on as well. Check it out!

Shaft driven chassis (much better than belt driven), waterproof, and comes ready to run with Spektrum Receiver and everything you need for $279 but its a pre-order for now.

They also have a 2012 Camaro....

Only thing I'd do to it is upgrade the drivetrain to brushless and the battery to Lipo to REALLY make it haul. Shame the body does not come unpainted or I'd order one.

I don't represent the company or product in any way. Just figured you guys would like to see it.

You can see how it compares to the other HPI 1969 Camaro by my own replica of my own car.:

The body on this new one is much nicer scale wise.

      Cheers,
      -D

AWESOME. I was hoping for a nitro version, but i have been out of the game for quite a few years, i'm sure the electric cars have upped their game quite a bit.

The current crop of electric brushless RC vehicles are crazy fast.
This '69 Camaro body is very nice. I'll have to hit the local Hobby shop.

They are retty cool, though. Wouldn't mind having one myself.

Now a days, brushless is way better than nitro in probably every way.

The car looks pretty cool, hope they come out with some different bodies down the line......cough...68 Charger...cough

yup. nitro is unreliable and a pain. With lipo batteries and brushless power 60-70 stock mph is easy for some models.

I'd wait until the end of the february. This is a new brand that was JUST released.... Jury is out on the durability and chassis etc too.

Looks very similar to the Tamiya TT01 in design though which is good. Durable

I bonded with my father and stepfather through RC cars. Still love RC till this day. Might not be a bad idea to build one with him!

HPI makes a bunch of Vintage Trans Am Bodies... They even run a scale Trans am racing series that is huge.

They too jumped on the Pro-touring bandwagon, more drift than pro-touring though...'

Yup brushless is insane. My 1/5 scale makes around 6whp and does rolling backflips off the wheeliebar at 40mph.

ask and ye shall receive. They make a 69 Charger with a big motor, and a cover for the motor hole as well...

VERY cool, I like those bodies better because they actually look proportionately correct.

Though I like my HPI camaro body cause its kindof a caricature of the real thing.. nothing beats the real thing.

Yeah, it will be a new event at the ASCS events roaming the country. Now we have to bring a car, and a RC car. Looks like fun!!
