      Nearly finished Cutlass for sale

      $25,000

Car has undergone a total frame off restoration over the last two years. Whatever wasn't replaced with top quality high performance aftermarket parts was replaced with NOS Oldsmobile parts. No original part was reused on this car unless it was in top condition. Literally no expense was spared in building this car but after 25 years of building hot rods I'm bored and haven't had the urge to finish this one. Spent significantly more than asking price to build this car and all receipts will be included. No junkyard parts - everything purchased new. All of the parts are there to complete the car except the material to make the vinyl half-top. Could easly be converted to a non-vinyl top car at this point. Still needs the rest of the interior installed and misc exterior trim installed. Factory body/chassis manuals, owners manuals, sales literature and reproduction window sticker included. Car is located in Wilmington, N.C.

1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham (top of the line car - all factory options for 1988 plus a few from earlier models). Came off production line on December 8th 1987 which was three days before GM stopped producing these cars altogether. Last of the mid-size V8 rear wheel drive coupes. Car had 74,508 miles when purchased. Rust free car sold in and always owned in southeastern North Carolina. I am the second owner. License plate is a joke - it's not really that bad on gas.

      Chassis
Only kept the frame and front spindles and they were professionally sandblasted inside and out. Everything else thrown in the trash. All parts have been replaced with aftermarket upgrades. Chassis was built with best possible handling in mind but still has good ride comfort and no objectionable bumps or rattles. Very flat cornering, quick steering with good feedback. Very predictable grip and easy to drive agressively with confidence.

      FRONT SUSPENSION
      Eibach Pro 1" lowering springs
      Bilstein shocks
      UMI tubular lower control arms
SPC/Savitske adjustable length upper control arms with greasable solid bushings
Howe Racing extra tall upper and lower screw-in ball joints (corrects factory suspension geometry - improves negative camber gain and reduces bump steer)
GM 12.7:1 quick ratio steering box (Monte Carlo SS option)
Helwig 1-5/16 tubular sway bar with upgraded heavy duty end links
      F-41 three piece frame braces
Double U-joint steering shaft (eliminates rubbery rag joint for improved steerign feel and quicker response to steering inputs)
Braided stainless steel flexible brake hoses
Front end aligned to specifications more like a road course race car
Rebuilt factory front brakes with Hawk Performance pads to allow use with 15" factory chrome wheels. Haven't found larger brakes to be necessary.

      REAR SUSPENSION
ridetech height adustable coil overs (some pictures show seperate springs and shocks. That was early in the build)
Spohn Del-Sphere adustable length upper and lower control arms
Helwig adjustable Pro-Touring type sway bar (ends mount to frame instead of control arms to prevent suspension bind)
Braided stainless steel flexible brake hose

Frame has been fully boxed for stiffness with thick 12 gauge steel plate. Plates drilled with lightning holes for weight reduction.
      G-Force double hump transmission crossmember
Extra crossmember added between rear bumper and gas tank for frame stiffness
      Polyurethane body mount bushings
All of the hardware and small brackets have been bright zinc plated for corrosion protection

      DRIVELINE
      Ford 9" from Quick Perfomance
      31 spline alloy axles
Detroit True-Trac differential 3.50:1 gears (2,050 RPM at 70 MPH but will still spin the tires in 1-2-3 gears)
      Yukon nodular iron case
Custom built 3" steel driveshaft with 1350 series U-joints
      11" x 2-1/4" drum brakes

ENGINE 383 c.i. 408 Horsepower 440lb/ft torque small block Chevy crate motor with dyno sheet (over 400lb/ft torque from 2,500 RPM up)
      http://www.blueprintengines.com/index.php/gm-383-bp3830ctc1s
Serpentine belt system with aluminum water pump
Plenty of chrome and aluminum dress up parts
ceramic coated long tube headers 2-1/2" exhaust with Flowmaster Super-40 mufflers - muscle car sound from the lumpy camshaft
New copper/brass radiator - runs between 175 and 190 even on 90+ degree days in traffic
      Electric choke
Engine has less than 2,000 miles on it and was purchased new for this car
Engine still has approximately two year 34,000 mile warranty left on it

TRANSMISSION 200-4r 4 speed overdrive "semi-automatic" transmission. I say semi-automatic because it has the Hurst Lightning Rod shifters which allow shifting like a sequential manual transmission or leave it in fully automatic mode.
Trans professionally built and upgraded to handle engines power level (Heat treated hard parts, aftermarket servos, carbon fibre bands, shift kit, etc.)
2000 RPM stall converter for good street manners but still lively performance

      BODY
Gloss PPG Concept bright white painjob completed December 2012
Body plastic media blasted to bare metal and primed with PPG DP48 epoxy primer for rust prevention
Extremely rare factory aluminum lightweight hood
Lightweight factory aluminum rear bumper core
battery relocated to trunk in white powder coated aluminum battery box for better weight distribution
Added a factory GNX Regal backseat brace to stiffen the body structure
Five brand new Super Stock II Oldsmobile rally wheels with NOS center caps and BF Goodrich raised white letter tires
Many NOS underhood and exterior parts
      New windshield
All new weatherstripping, some of which is NOS
NOS passenger AND drivers side taillights (drivers side extremely difficult to find - $$$)
All other exterior marker lights NOS as well.
NOS nose badge (another very difficult to find part - $$$)

      INTERIOR
Hurst Lightning Rods shifters from a 1984 Hurst Olds and floor shift steering column. All in excellent condition. Installed and working ($1000 in parts right there)
Black 2010 Chevy Aveo seats in perfect condition out of a low milage wreck installed. They're very comfortable and supportive in high G-force cornering.
Perfect dashboard with no cracks and still pliable vinyl. Took two years and lots of $$$ to find it. It's grey and needs to be redyed blue (dye included).
      Factory ralleye gauge cluster
      Auto-dimming review mirror
Third brake light flasher module to get attention of distracted drivers and tailgaters
Reproduction upper door panels, carpet, headliner, lighted sun visors and many other NOS interior parts such as switches, levers, etc. included
Interior has been half re-installed. Other half is in my house where it has been stored since removal.
