mini tubbed 69 camaro 20's anyone?

I am almost done mini tubbing one side of my 69 camaro, and before I weld it in I thought I would make a mock tire from cardboard. I made a 335/30r20 but I am wondering if it is too big. I have cut into the frame rail about as much as I'm comfortable with, trimmed the fender lips and still this thing would not slide all the way up into the well if the bags were dumped on an airide car. It would hit the fender lips. I'm puzzled because I have seen some pics of cars using this tire and lowered to the point that the wheel lip is even with the fender lip. I used dse tubs. If anyone here has 20's on a tubbed camaro, can you tell me what tire you're using? Also, how much suspension travel do I actually need in inches on the back?

i think some of the issue is the height of a 335/30/20 being 28'' tall compared to most people using a 335/30/18 being 25.9" tall. most everyone using that width tire cuts and rolls the fender lips. i've never done a 69 but feel these are going to be some of your issues using dse tubs. the extra height wont allow it to tuck as much with it being 1" further up in the wheelwell compared to the 26" tire. most tucking this size tires probably narrow the rear, cut more of the framerail and move them inward more also..
