      Charging/Gauge Size and routing Questions

I just started on the install of my AAW classic update harness on my 67 Firebird. I'm using a powermaster alternator 57295 (rated 93 amps idle, 160 at 6000, advertised as a 140 amp alternator). I will be running a Lincoln MKVIII electric fan and an electric fuel pump. I will also be using a junction block under the hood (undecided on battery location, under hood or trunk at this point), this is where my main 4 gauge feed from the starter and the battery feed will connect to. I was also planning on using this junction to run my fan and fuel pump relays. My questions are:

1: The AAW kit uses a 10 gauge wire from alt to starter (with a fuseable link), a 10 gauge then feeds the fuse block from this location - Is this sufficient for my alternator setup?

2: If not sufficient, can I run a larger gauge wire from the alt to my junction block? Will I need to re-route the AAW wiring going to the starter? Or can I leave those as is and simply add say a 4 gauge cable to my under hood junction? How will this affect the alternator signal wire location?

3: Currently, I have a 4 gauge for the main starter feed, is this sufficient?

      Thanks, any feedback appreciated.

Thanks, I have been reading through it, was just looking for any feedback from this site. The questions I posted deviate slightly from the MAD set-ups and I could not find an answer to what gauge wire I should be using for my starter main feed.

I'm thinking that it would be best to do the following:

Use my junction block (mounted on fender well or firewall area) as the point which the fuse block power and alternator output will connect to (instead of at the starter).
The main power to the starter (4 gauge) will be connected from the starter to this block.
The main battery feed will connect to this block

Should I increase the gauge size of the alternator to junction connection? 8 gauge, 4 gauge? Also, any suggestions on fusing? Or...should I just keep the 10 gauge with fusible link setup in the AAW kit?

All I can say is, the bigger the better. With all of the power hungry accessories you will be running I would go 4ga to the junction blk. That's what I am planning on the van.
You may want to consider going to the Ford remote solenoid for you starter feed. I like it just because that cable is live only doing crank.
