To wide for me . I like the width of the 69 stock hockey stripe ... To be differant you could wrap the end under the valance more

With the extra width it takes away from the nice line of the front fender opening.

I agree with the other comments. It's too wide and hurts the flow of the car for me personally, visually distracting.

The factory colors are Lemans Blue with white hockey stripe.
Then I wanted the blue a little darker.Just a little.
I then thought making the stripe a little wider would look good.
Some how I ended up so dark that it looks almost black and the stripe a little too wide.
Right now I just want to drive the car.I will make my changes around March or April
Who knows,by then I may love it

I think what throws it off is that now the side light is off center. If it was wider, but centered I wouldn't have issue with it. I also like the idea of bringing it lower on the fender.

yeah a bit too wide, you might be able to save it by extending it down to the valance and putting a slight angle to the rear section to match the wheel opening a bit.

Here's what we've been toying with over on TC:

      Original:

Same width as original, angled back a bit:

Slightly narrower so it's centered on the side marker light (my favorite):

Same as above but with the bottom corners rounded:

Your original stripe narrowed in the rear to center it on the side marker light:

If you wanted a "stock" look then yes to wide, if you where going for something different, which is seems you where, I think centering on the side marker would make a big difference. More about flowing well with the body lines then anything. I like your original concept.

Alright, just to make your life more miserable, here are 3 more options. These would require filling in the side marker light, or at least moving it. Not practical if you are going to paint on Monday...

I like these options because they follow the lines of the car better, and the stripe is closer to the nose, and extends further down the fender. Both the front and rear edge of the stripe are slightly concave as well. I don't know if you're running a front bumper, and if so, I'm not sure where it would fall in relation to the side marker lights. Anyways:

I would go with the stock width for the stripe.
