help,not going in any gear.

ok,first i s looking clip fell off my valve body and car only had low gear.i put clip back on and got park,reverse,and drive,but no low gears.i thought maybe it is the linkage,but it moves good.the trans shifts good.just doesn't go in gear.any ideas??
