wiper motor?

I've been reading the post about wiper motor upgrades. I haven't found anything about other kits like AAW? It seem's everybody goes with the DSE kit is it really that much better? What am I missing?

Thanks , I did find them. But the post's that I have found all seem to be dse, just have to wounder whats up with that. Is there really any difference or maybe they are just more common with the pro-touring crowd?

I don't have any experience with anything other than the stock unit and then my upgrade to the DSE unit on my '67 Firebird.
And in my opinion, it is well worth the money, I love it and tell anybody that asks about. My friend and I have done 2 full Hot Rod Power Tours, and a partial, I've traveled to Goodguys events, car shows and drive it as much as I can here in Iowa, in what seems like lots of rain, and in the 4 or 5 years I've had it, no problems what so ever. The install was straight forward, and there are enough speed settings to suit any condition. No to mention that I think it just looks good and "fits" in with my LS2 under the hood.
I have talked to the guys at DSE on the phone and at shows, about all kinds of things and they have always been decent and helpful.
I really don't see how you could go wrong with the DSE units.

we got a caddy wiper motor from a bone yard for cheap, then fabricated some mounts and cut / welded a section into the cowl to allow the arms to rotate. If you can cut / weld / modify, then that is a cheap way to get something cool. If you can't, DSE offers a great bolt-in kit

This is what I was trying to figure out. I like the idea of cutting and welding the caddy unit, but I'm past that stage of the build For this car. I think a bolt in kit is the way to go. But I will go that way for my nova that I'm building.

I did the same with a motor out of a 07 dodge dakota pu truck wiper motor- $20 off ebay, drilled two holes in top of cowl, made some spacers, cut & bent the stock dakota bracket a bit and voila! hidden inside my cowl. Only downside was wiring pigtail from dealer was $30...

You can run Almost any switch- depends if u want all the speeds/delays or not! Im running just off/ on with 2 speed- slow/fast.

What did you do for the switch?

I got one of these from John!

I think it is awesome because I wanted to keep my original knobs and bezels. I sent him my OE switch and he modded it to fit on the new switch. Great guy with a good design supplementing his income while serving in the U.S. Army.

[Classic Nova & Performance]

The only conversions we've used are the DSE Selecta-Speed kits. The first one we installed was on our 1965 Nova shop car/daily driver. To use with a stock heater box I had to replace a factory spacer with a 1" longer spacer to clear the defroster hoses. I drive the car pretty much everyday for 10 months out of the year, and it has made driving (seeing) much nicer.
