Help me choose an aesthetic: Vote!

Top car in image in choice #1 and bottom car is #2.

The car is a 76 formula I am resto-modding and borrowing the 76 T/A visual potency (aka clone car minus badging). I would like some feedback as to whether the striking black/white or the restrained ..er.. subtle aesthetic is best.

The car is being built to be enjoyed for a few months when finished but is ultimately resale oriented as I intend to sell on ebay.

I like the top one better than the lower one. Unless you were to do wheels that have a lip.

I like the second set of wheels and the more subtle graphic. I really like this body style. You can't go wrong. Either way it will look great.

I like the more understated look of the bottom one. You could still black the chrome with it too.

The wheels and blackout on the trim in the fop one give it a more finished look.
The darker bird would be my choice, but if the gray has any tone similar to the wheels, it would look right at home too. ( I assume the interior is black).

The top wheels are Motigi Racing Techno Mesh that I have added the black "paint" to the sides of the spokes.

Is the fact that the car is a low option formula by-the-numbers (350 2 barrel 3:08 open diff originally but now a 400+ 3:23 posi) affect the choice in aesthetic at all? Would compensating for the low dollar numbers with a striking look help or, on the flip side of the coin, would the subtle aesthetic pay homage and be more appropriate to a desirable by-the-numbers car?

I will not be able to do the deep rear rim look as the car is not mini tubed and has an OEM 10 bolt rear. I am assuming a mini tub and shortened axles is what is required for the deep rear rim on the wheels.

Wheels will be 18 by 8.5 with roughly 20mm offset give or take 12 mills.

Interior is black with 4th gen plastic-back pontiac fronts and rears made out of 4th gen bottoms with late model Grand Am GT backs and Bonneville folding armrest cup holder contraption.

I can't comment on value, but you should still have a few inches of lip on that wheel with a +20mm offset.

If you intend to flip it, flash sells- do what will sell the car, not necessarily what your preference is. I like the darker contrast mostly for that reason. So will all the kids that ask Daddy to buy them a cool muscle car.

I haven't seen the 74-76 cars bring much money regardless of rarity unless it is a Super Duty. Build the car you want. Most people are going to want a 70-73 or 77-78 when it comes to TA's. Build the car you want. I like the lower graphics with the upper wheels.

I prefer the top .. ahem.. "rendering" myself and invented the bottom rendering so as to appeal to the collector car market with it's conservative styling. Perhaps I should follow my own advice and build cars to my own tastes first and foremost, be dammed what others think.

If it was a 50th anniversary addition 455 4-speed then subtle would be best but this thing is just a formula 350 snooze-mobile by the numbers on dat cowl.

Beat the ugly out of it, make it cool, drive it for a bit and pass it on to the market. Top rendering it is.

Motigi Racing: Techno Mesh.

18x8.5 with 32mm offset. 12mm (1/2 inch) too much offset from ideal but a 1/4'' spacer should sort that out if needed.

They retail for around $700 for a set of 4 in silver paint. Polished will cost you more.
