      Sound deadener?

Anyone have any recommendations on a good sound deadener? Im not worried as much with the heat insulating characteristics as I am the sound.
I like Dynamat, but its way too heavy to do the entire interior in and their lightweight product is a little pricey... lizard skin sound insulation looks like a contender. Any other brands? Bed liner?
Weight and cost are the biggest concerns here...

This stuff Secondskin is amazing. I've used all their products on my dad's truck, and I've used fatmat. Second skin is on a whole other level, the quality if far superior.

Lizard skin is too expensive. Go with QuietCoat... almost half the price. Proven results.

I don't see a need for the heat + vibration if your coating does both jobs at once unless your talking headers and exhaust.

guy gets 13 dba reduction on a Mazda using quietcoat at 60mph.

I am sure lizard skin is similar stuff. Quietcoat is more of the industrial stuff, Lizard skin targets the automotive market directly(thusly the higher price, target your customers, undercut dynamat...).

Weight dry is 8.5 lbs a gallon.

      59$ a gallon for QuietCar http://quietcoat.stores.yahoo.net/quiet1gal.html

      around 90$ for a gallon of Lizardskin.(eastwood shows 110$ for 1 gallon)...

the ceramic "heat" stuff sounds like a gimmick to double the cash pull from someones wallet

Mcmaster Marr has even cheaper stuff.

Go to their website, they are not afraid to show you their tests(from boats to houses). I couldnt find any "test" info on lizardskin. There are other spray on sound proofers also.

Actually you can get 2 gallons of lizard skin for $158 through summit and 2 gallons of the ceramic is $168.

Looked at the quiet coat, just by chance with it, what are you using for a heat barrier? I have a big block with headers and a full exhaust.
