      tire size question

      Recently got some 17x8 wheels for my 88 Monte Carlo, wasn't sure what tires size to go with. I'm tying to do all the math with millimeter to inches conversions etc. I think 245/45 17 should fit and give me what I'm going for. Any opinions or suggestions for tire size?

      ok quick and dirty 25.4 mm to one inch
      245/45/17
      245/25.4=9.64567
      9.64567x0.45=4.34055
      4.34055x2(top and bottom of tire/wheel)=8.6811
      8.6881+17=25.6811
      section width 9.6" wide(from a book I have)
      Hope this helps, also remember cheaper tires may be shorter or taller, each manufacturer is different so allow a little for extra.
