Vendors help, C6 UCA ball joint boss

Here's my problem. I am adapting a C6 based suspension to a S10. The way I want to tackle the alignment adjustment is to go with a cross shaft style UCA rather then use the factory eccentrics on the LCA so new uppers or buy a cross shaft conversion kit from SRIII that would require custom delrin bushings and so on. That said I am having a very hard time finding the actual taper for the upper ball joint. Seems every one comes up with a different number. Went out and bought a stock s10 upper ball joint since I know it is 7 degrees, threads will not pass through the small end so dykem method didn't work. Talked to several machine shops about copying the taper and cutting a boss but the few that would gave me prices that blow my budget.

So, I need a boss for the upper ball joint taper like many of the vendors use on their tubular UCAs. If anybody could help It would be greatly appreciated.
I will put a link (your banner) to your site in my sig if that helps. I am just having such a hard time finding the correct info or having the sales staff understanding what it is I need.

Eric, the taper information I gave you (1:12, 4.78 degrees) is from 2010 C6 GM cad data. I don't have any actual parts to measure. I can't find any tapered reamers with this angle. It should be easy for a machine shop to set up the taper on a lathe and bore it for you. You just need to find a shop willing to do a couple of parts.

      NOTE: See below for correction.

I think the 4.78 deg is per side.
I put a 10 deg reamer in a C6 upper and it nearly fits right it hits at the wide part of the hole but wobbles just slightly on the small end. You probably could buy a 10 deg reamer and have it modified.

      Hi Eric,

How many do you need. I had my machine shop cut a bunch for me. The more you buy the cheaper (still pricey) it is. I have offset and centered.

      Shoot me an email.

Doh! David, this is why you are the go-to guy on suspensions. 2 inches in a foot is a standard size taper reamer ( 9.594 degrees).

Cool! This may be the one: http://www.xkut-reamers.com/servlet/...%26-TIE/Detail
I once bought a cheap reamer from Allstar, it broke (chipped) when I tried to make a tie rod taper. I bought a better one & I think it was this XKUT brand. It worked well. I had to ream in short bursts, cleaning out shavings in-between cuts, MFR calls it "Pecking Cycle". I'd never used a tapered reamer like this before on hard material so didn't know how to do it.

Mike, thanks for your info. I might need a reamer for a C6 UBJ too so this helps me.

David, My real name is Larry. I met you and Mary for a minute at Bear Brakes when a group from here came over for the Super Chevy Show at Firebird a year or two ago. I have a reamer from Speedway, but haven't used it yet. They carry two of each angle, 7 and 10 degrees, one has staight cutters, the other has curved cutters. I cheaped out and got the straight, but I think the curved cuts more smoothly.

Note: I corrected my post on https://www.pro-touring.com/showthre...ll+joint+taper

Larry, that was the last time I was down there. Had a great time running our 2002 Camaro SS.
