Two diff heads on the same motor??

Ok...I am the fleet manager of a small fleet of 67 GM Express Vans and Silverado's. All of the vans have the 4.8 LS motor in them.

One of our 2006 vans has 210,000 miles on it and is consuming coolant rapidly so I authorized a new motor since the van is in otherwise great shape. The motor is a gen III LR4 4.8 motor and it has the 862 heads on it. I know all this b/c I as thinking of keeping the motor and just paying the core charge of $300.

The new motor came in today and I inspected it. I turns out that the new motor has two different head casting on it....a 862 and a 706.

Are these the same heads or something? I looked it up on google and it has them both listed as 4.8/5.3 truck heads...but that's it. Is there any difference in these heads....and why do you think I have one of each on my new motor?
