04-29-2005 #3Sigh...No contribution, not much interest in this thread. No wonder David Freiburger made comments like Pro Tourers are just bunch of posers. How could I blame him?
Not slalom, but some "rare" shots of Pro Touring cars being used like they are meant to be.
CarlC's very clean '68 at Streets of Willow
JonB69FB's 10-sec. Firebird at Streets of Willow

Above two photos courtesy of JonB69FB
Alcino's MII at Buttonwillow

AndrewB's GTO at Road America

Jeff S' Cadillac at Road America.

Art Morrison's '55 Chevy killing cones before it was painted.

There are also bunch of track day pics in "Events" section of the site (not the forum non-racing event section).
My own car is shown in my sig, running at Buttonwillow Raceway among M3 and Porsche. I modify my car to improve its performance and my lap times, not just to improve aesthetics and wow factors which seem to be the main focus of many people.
Almost any '50~'60s cars are capable of getting attention and sitting pretty at fairgrounds. Out of all sorts of different hot rods, only Pro Touring cars are capable of hanging on corners like late model sports cars, and only real Pro Tourers have the guts to push the limit of their PT cars to prove their true capabilities, like the owners of cars shown above.
I'll go back to Racing section now...
EDIT In response to a couple of posts below, when I say posers, I mean people who have had running cars for a while, yet refuse to take their cars to auto-x/track events and/or have their cars tested by magazines.
Those who are still trying to get their cars running are excluded (for now). I hope you guys won't be afraid of using your cars. I'd say you won't be if you care enough to post a reply in this thread.
another EDIT
Some more contributions...

The first step of becoming a better driver is to attend a track event, time yourself, and realize the fact you really suck.
Signed,
A driver who laps Big Willow at 1:42.6 in a 134hp BMW - and I am still considered mediocre.
04-29-2005 #4If this works, https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/at...tid=3162&stc=1 Please reply if this is not viewable and whether or not you are logged in, apparently I am still having issues posting pics.
I guess I understand the comment about being a poser, but I can tell you that is a lot easier to go out and thrash on a gutted race-car than a "PT-classic". SS

Poser here. Can't offer any photos. I will bookmark this page. I hope to contribute some photos in the next month or so.
I agree I would hope there are more photos out there.

05-02-2005 #8I will change the title to possibly get some more pics in here. Instead of Slalom pics how about some track pics too!
Oh I guess changing the title doesn't change on the site. hmmAdam_______Offical Car Name "ILLUSION"
