      77-2nd Gen Firebird A/C

Where is the fresh air inlet flap located? I don't seem to have the flap shown in the picture "cowl fresh air vent door." The pictures are from a 67 bird. I cant check I am very far away from my Bird.. Item 7 on the drawing... Recirculating the air the kick panel door/flap is open? but what closes the fresh air from the cowl?

The pictures in my previous post are from: http://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/u...=208643&page=1
Thanks, I should have mentioned this before.

I am also lacking the air ducts behind dashboard I only have item number 6 on the attached picture (picture from e-bay store). To replace the ducts with used parts would be costly and difficult to get. Making them out of suitable ventilation hose is one option, have anybody done so and what size of ventilation hose did you use. The options are 2, 2.5 and 3 inches hose, the larger the hose, less air velocity then less noise.

I am also missing the vacuum hoses for the ac control what sizes are these and what material looks like hard plastic? Last picture from e-bay.

I believe the vacuum lines are 1/16" new cars use a plastic line.
which what I used when rebuilding the AC. on my 79 TA.
Actually used the plastic line to replace all rubber vacuum hose.
I would also suggest a Sanden AC compressor using the Vintage Air
      Pontiac Bracket.
Check the E-bay vendors they offer all the hard lines and hoses using the new barrier hose and seals.
any hose that is compatible with R 135 is OK to use with R 12. That includes a Sanden Compressor.

Search the forums there has been a number of discussions on AC rebuilds.

      Compressor

I will use my Jeep Cherokee compressor (Japan) as it just working as a idle wheel in the Cherokee at the moment. Making AC systems in the Philippines is not a problem. Getting original parts from USA cost too much and is time consuming. I would think that the 77 evaporator needs to be renewed, the condenser looks good from outside, but needs to be leak tested.

The remaining duct work behind dash I use parts I can find in hardware store the adapters for hose to vents and AC unit have to be made from steel, I have a good fitter who can do it.
