Looking for some opinions on estimate

Hey guy's new to the site and was looking to get some opinions/advice on the estimate I received to have the frame on my 69 GTO sandblasted, epoxy primered, and painted. The body put on a rotiserie the firewall and the underneath of the car also to be sandblasted and painted. Also they will be installing a new pst body mount kit and it's looking like the CPP stage IV kit or something similar. They told me $3000-$3500 and that included the tow, sandblasting, paint materials, labor and I was supplying the body mount kit and the CPP stage IV kit and whatever other part's needed. They didn't specify or think I really needed anything else major and said the kit looked like it included everything but the drop spindles which CPP also carries. Is there anything else I should ask I hate surprises? The car is pretty much torn apart with the whole front clip, engine and suspension already being off the car. Thanks in advance for your input.

That is not an unreasonable number for what they are doing. I would suggest installing new brake and fuel lines before the body goes back on the frame if they cross between the two. Everything else should be fairly accessible.

Sounds very reasonable...make sure you get a written estimate before you leave the shop. Also go in time to time to check on progress.

Thanks for the input later today I'm going with my father in law to check out the shop and see some of the other projects they have going on and hopefully iron out the details. Any recommendations on what kind of paint to use on the frame and underbody of the car I plan on making the car a driver so I don't care about making it look original I want it to look nice and last. Also based on what I described are there any other questions you think I should ask?

I would recommend anything epoxy based on the frame. Don't go with POR 15. They will most likly recommend it.

Make sure you are able to check on the cars progress at various stages of the build. Ask them if they are willing to take pictures for you. Find out what type of paint removal media they will use for the frame, for the body panels and large flat metal. If they reply sand for all...run away.

Thanks again! For the frame they are planning on sending it out to be sandblasted, epoxy primered and for the paint they want to use a product called Defender Pro made by U.S. Chemical. I understand it's a bed liner paint and suppost to be super durable and chip resistant but to be honest I'm not to familiar with it. They said my frame was in good shape and didn't recommend por 15 because it's made to be painted over rust and it probably wouldn't stick to well. They also said I could do the whole underneath with this stuff but I'm unsure because it only comes in 1 shade of black and I wanted to add some contrast. Any thoughts?

I recommend you consider the SC&C suspension kits http://scandc.com/new/node/735 rather than the CPP. I have nothing against CPP I am using their beginner level 4 wheel disc kit and the 500 series gear box and both have served me well. Contact Marcus @ SC&C he is the guru on A body handling. Good luck the fun is about to begin.

Welcome to the site Steve! What part ot C-town you in? I know a few guys in NE Ohio that could probably paint your car for that price.

we took our frame to a local shop, and they sandblasted it and powder coated it for under $600.
